Whole Foods Market in New Orleans

Had to stopped by Whole foods market.
Why?
Because I am in new town and it is only 25 min walking distance away from my hotel.

Rainy...
But nothing stopped me haha-
Well..., on the way to go there I was scared honestly, and kept thinking 'should I need to go back? This area does not seem to be safe enough.'  'Well, ok.. Just grab and come back. A hour later it will be dark.'

Since the location is opposite way of downtown French Quarter, constructions all around, poor looking houses... it might be natural thought.
If I did not meet a old lady on the corner of the market, I would probably went back without any hesitant.

I was seriously starving at that moment. Had half size of apple, about 3 tbsp oats for breakfast; 1 big banana and about 2 tbsp oats for lunch.
Dizziness.. Head bing bing
Cold haha-

Finally!
Market itself is cozy size.
Very unique interior than California and Colorado.
Found some vegan desserts easily but noooo- vegan soup for today... Arrrr.
Hoped they do but since not all whole foods markets carry (I know), an appology accepted kk.

Walked around really fast & quick (if I were here litttle bit earlier than 4:30 pm then no rush..).
Bulk items like grain, prices are slightly pricey than others hummm. Why...

Had to have leady greens and fruits. No matter what, must must must! :)
Grabbed Engine 2 plant-strong organic Crispbread original for carb.
Hesitant between french baguette and this but more healthy ingredients, you won Engine 2!

Not many sittings. All two seats in a table. Almost swallowed salad. Time is ticking ticking ticking.

Well, the entrance of the market actually reminds me of a market in France I visited nearby motel.

I actually surprised that Whole Foods Market is located the area like this.

Well, I don't think I will go back there for I feel unsecured by surrounding area. Only by this reason, staffs are super nice and store itself is cozy and good. Don't get me wrong.

I am writting this while eating snacks (I was craving for dense type of snacks last few days. Satisfied. I would regret if I chose baguette.Lord, You know me better always :D Thank You).

Also glad I did not go to 'Green Goddness' restaurant, either.
Probably they would not have ones I wanted anyway but way more pricey.

King size bed
Watching Food Network Channel
Bright lights
So good-!

Ohohoh!!!
The first Impression of New Orleans-
People are sooooo polite and nice! :)

French Toast Muffin from HH

French Toast Muffin from HH

Can I say it is insanely good??? 👍

I do not have muffin pan so why not just use regular baking pan instead?
(Should had take a picture before cutting.. I am not get used to this step yet haha)

Moist
Chewy
Sweet

(Used Organic Cane Sugar)-its own sweetness brings up the taste! Do not use any liquid sweetners here. There should be texture of the cane sugar. Trust me on this :)

Personally, so far I used three times of chickpea flour and last two times, honestly, did not like the taste nor the texture of it at all. Thought that I need to get rid of the rest of it soon. That's why when I see this recipe, I say it is perfect.

OMG!
Nonono. For this baking I should keep maintain the flour haha.

Seriously, it is soooooo good!

Also, it only takes about 25 min, prep and baking altogether.

I did even make my own applesauce!

Valentine's Cupcake from Native Foods Cafe

Cute decoration
For this reason caught my attention
However the important part- flavor.
Bland arrr-
Cake part, sugary flavor. Too sweet.
That's it.
Cost $2.95

Comparing size and price, too pricy.
Will go back for this! Definately, NO.

Pretzels

Pretzel from scratch!

Recipe from Anne & Jane Esselstyn's.

Mine sprinkled with oats little.
Others plain.
Oh, I did with 2cups of whole wheat pastey flour only. No oat flour added.
And let thr dough sitting almost a day to rise.

A reason for plain is I will have various of dipping sauces :)
Like sweet or savory, even with tomato pasta sauce!

*New idea:
I can knead the dough with mushed coconut date roll with my everyday sweet sauce. Then, it is date sweet pretzel!

Yum yum!

Cinnamon Roll

Finally!

I was dying for baking these few weeks but haven't got a chance to do it.
I release my stress by baking but not doing so, more stressful.

Must!!! Make it today; otherwise, I would die for not making it, dying under stress- not making.

The very first time using yeast in my life, scarrrry-

This recipe is from HH.
The only replacement I made this time was not using typical plant-based milk, but banana milk.
Yes, banana milk, HOME MADE banana milk.
(It's really simply. 1:1 ratio of banana and water. Blend it. That's it.)

Lindsay adds chef's note there about picking flour. I used whole wheet pastry flour. I think I like this one better. Good choice. Haha-

My bun got sort of dry but since I love texture of little bit of dryness naturally, who care?
I made this for myself and I like it. Then, success! :)

* 2 Cup of flour would work better with Banana Milk I guess.

I did not make icing on purpose.
Maybe I might for next time when I am craving for sweetness.
Otherwise, cinnammon roll it itself is sweet enought, satisfy my sweet tooth :)

Yes, I must move my hands on baking once in a while.
That's me, and that release my stress naturally automatically in healthy way.

Haaaaapppppppppppy! :D

Buffalo "Wings" Sauce from Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease Cookbook

Today is Super Bowl Day

I am not a football fan at all so it does not mean anything to me, BUT there are super bowl dishes people are crazy about. It means I get good inpirations! :)

Today, no revise or any. From "Preserve and Prevent a Heart Disease Cookbook"
(My FAVORITE FAVORITE cookbook so far, EVER!)

Tried buffalo "wings" sauce.
About a couple of weeks ago I tried HH version of wing sauce with cauliflower.
It did not go well, honestly- first time trial of vegan yogurt. That failed with portion with other ingredients. Maybe that was the hugh part of the failure(?).

NOW, different version of wing sauce.
I basically did not revise at all.
Ingredients are much simpler than HH- I am not feel like having cheesey flavor today, which is so perfect, too! NO vegan yogurt or whatsoever that I need to buy extra.
All ingredients are pantry stocked.

Taste is really really great! Real Buffalo Wings!
I just digged myself into the batter, seriously. It's that good!

Simple, clean but full of buffalo wings sauce that I tasted before when I eat chicken few years back, but obviously, Whole Foods Plant-Based now. How cool is that? yeah? :)

Hugh Hugh success, ever!

Thank you Ann and Jane Esseltyn! You are truly my heroes! :)
Can't say thank you enough for your cookbook!
